DEVO
Concert at the Grand Sierra, February, 2026
The DEVO concert at the Grand Sierra Resort felt like stepping into a neon‑lit time warp where satire, sci‑fi, and punk energy collided. The crowd was a mix of longtime spuds and younger fans dressed in yellow suits, red energy domes, and DIY devolution gear. The band came out with that unmistakable robotic swagger — tight, synchronized movements, deadpan expressions, and a stage bathed in industrial reds and radioactive greens.
Video projections flickered behind them: Cold War imagery, corporate absurdity, and glitchy animations that made the whole show feel like a live performance‑art critique of modern life. The sound was sharp and punchy — synths buzzing, guitars slicing, drums hitting with mechanical precision. When they launched into the big hits, the room surged; people danced in that wonderfully awkward DEVO way, half‑ironic, half‑ecstatic.
It was nostalgic, but not a museum piece — more like DEVO reminding everyone that their weird, brilliant worldview still fits the moment a little too well.
